Visitors gather to enjoy food, drink and live music at Fox Valley Food Festival

18 June 2024

Thousands of food, drink and music lovers gathered to celebrate the annual Fox Valley Food Festival at the weekend.

Visitors turned up to the popular Stocksbridge shopping centre to enjoy the two-day extravaganza, now in it’s eighth year.

Abi Hilton, Centre Manager at Fox Valley, said: “A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to organise the event every year and it was great to see so many people enjoying the festival.”

Visitors enjoyed the culinary delights of dozens of food traders showcasing gourmet dishes, sweet treats and fresh produce from around the globe and locally.

Popular food stalls that went down a treat with foodies included Mangiamo Street Kitchen offering pasta and gourmet sandwiches, Istanbul Kitchen serving up Turkish kebabs, Devon’s Kitchen with their delicious Jamaican food and Alvi’s Homemade Indian meals and snacks.

The award-winning Bradfield Brewery and Sheffield Distillery made sure thirsty visitors were replenished with a range of delicious drinks.

Shoppers also indulged in wine tasting and nibbles while looking over the latest fashion collections at Sandersons Boutique Store.

Visitors were treated to music in the centre’s piazza on the Saturday to enjoy the annual Valley Music Festival, which featured a range of acts including Masbrough Community Choir, Holly Thompson and Flytrapp among others.

The live music continued on the Sunday with performances from Ryan Swift, Ruby Hays and Christopher Bailey.  There was even a special puppy patch area for the centre’s four-legged visitors.

The Fox Valley team are also grateful for the support received from the official media partners Penistone FM, who broadcast live throughout the event.

Station Director Martin Sugden said: “We had a brilliant time broadcasting our shows from the festival and it was nice to see so many of our listeners face-to-face having a good time.”

A special thanks also goes to our headline sponsor Kitchen Connections Ltd – a company with more than 20 years’ of experience in the home renovation industry, who recently moved to Maria House, just off the roundabout at the entrance to Fox Valley.

Company owner Wayne Rayworth said: “We were happy to support this fantastic community event and it was great that thousands of people got to see our brand name as the main sponsor, which is always important when you move to new premises and are trying to get your name out there.”
