Fox Valley celebrates a thriving year with record footfall

8 January 2024

North Sheffield’s Fox Valley shopping centre has witnessed a remarkable year during 2023 - surpassing pre-pandemic footfall rates.

Throughout 2023, the shopping centre attracted an impressive number of visitors, marking an increase of 4% compared to 2022 – despite tough trading conditions on the high street and economic uncertainty.

The centre’s unique combination of national and boutique independent retailers, alongside a diverse range of beauty and health services, has established Fox Valley as both a key local service provider and a popular regional visitor destination.

The management team’s imaginative range of seasonal events and one of the region’s most impressive Christmas lights displays has also proved a hit with shoppers.

Managed and owned by the South Yorkshire-based regeneration experts Dransfield Properties, the centre has maintained full occupancy in both its retail and office spaces throughout the last year.

Managing Director James Shepherd said, The centre’s success over the last 12 months is definitely attributable to the varied retail mix we have here, but also the free and accessible parking.

“By owning the main town centre car park, we get to control the cost for this service which is so important to shoppers.

“We’ve also sought to offer a varied range of seasonal events throughout the year, adding to the experience for our shoppers.”

The centre’s independent department store, Sandersons Boutique, celebrated a strong year introducing a number of new well-known designer ranges to its store including Weekend Max Mara, Marella, Boss and Hackett. The store has also launched a collaboration with pre-loved handbag concession, Xupes. Vintage Chanel, Hermes and Fendi can all now be purchased from the flagship store.

The success of the recent Christmas shopping season at Fox Valley has highlighted the shopper’s desire to shop in physical stores and not just online.

Centre Manager at Fox Valley, Claire Biltcliffe, said: “We had a fantastic year at Fox Valley and hope our customers continue to support our centre throughout 2024.

“We will continue to hold our popular weekly markets and regular free family events. With our strong shopping and eating out offer we hope to continue being a popular choice for families, couples, friends and all parts of the community to come together, enjoy the outdoors and connect with people.”

Fox Valley is currently fully occupied with a waiting list of prospective businesses. For business enquiries please contact Olly Jansen at olly.jansen@dransfield.co.uk. For more information about upcoming events, visit our website at www.foxvalleysheff.co.uk.
